Hindupur is a bustling commercial capital of Anantapur District in Andhra Pradesh. It is situated at a distance of 100 kilometers from the Silicon valley of India, Bangalore (the largest exporter of IT services) and 14 kilometers from Lepakshi. The biggest advantage is its proximity to Bangalore international Airport Devanahalli (80 k.m.). B.I.T. Institute of Technology is established by Sri Venkateswara Educational Society under the leadership of Sri P. Chandra Mohan in the year 2001 at Hindupur and is approved by AICTE, Affiliated to JNTUA and Accredited by NBA. The college has a sprawling campus of 26 acres. BIT has spread its wings to offer Four Engineering disciplines, ECE, EEE, CSE and Civil with an intake of 330 seats, MBA with the intake of 60 seats and Diploma courses in ECE, CSE and EEE branches from the academic year 2009 with 60 seats in each course. The objective of the institution is to provide technical education to rural mass and it is the only engineering college in the Hindupur mandal. More than 1500 students are studying, above 200 students residing at College campus hostel and more than 100 employees are working at BIT Institute of Technology, Hindupur. The college has successfully imparted technical education to rural students and students are placed in MNCs and abroad. The college has got an MOU with JKC and is a star rated college. The college has also got technical MOUs with Camo Software India Ltd., and TMI Systems to promote industry institution interaction. COMPUTER CENTER
The college has a well established computer to cater the needs of students and staff. Separate Internet Infrastructure, all the machines in the campus, are connected to 3 mbps, 24 x 7, Railtel leased line connectivity. This opens the floodgates for the student community to assimilate knowledge from the globe, helping them to prepare for technical symposiums, seminars and projects.
LIBRARY & INFORMATION CENTER
The college has a well established library which caters the need of the students and faculty. The library remains open from morning to evening on all working days. The library is completely computerized with library automation. Good number of books related to all branches are there in the library to help the student. Apart from that, BIT has subscribed to various national & international journals and technical magazines for the benefit of the students. The institution library provides ample opportunities to build knowledge of both students and faculty. The media center is equipped with multimedia PCs and Video CDs according to the curriculum.WORKSHOP
Focused thrust is provided for developing precision engineering skills in our students; we boast of a fully developed and functional workshop to let the students have a hands-on feel of basic engineering operations. The Central workshop has been split into Welding, Foundry, Fitting, Carpentry and Sheet Metal sub-shops to let students have practical engineering exposure.DRAWING HALL
